About

Chatbots are everywhere online – answering questions on websites, popping up in messenger apps – they’re a ubiquitous feature of our online world. Join us to learn how to code your own chatbot using HTML, CSS and Javascript. First you’ll build a bot to deliver a joke of the day. Next you’ll step it up to create an FAQ bot delivering answers to questions on your favourite topics.

This course is aimed at students who have some coding experience and understand the basics, but are curious to explore text based coding and how interactive web apps are made.

What you’ll learn

• Master the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Create interactive web apps
• How to design conversational flow
• How to debug effectively
• Write code for your own project
• Insights into automated conversations and social bots
• Understand how chatbots function as a customer service tool for industry websites

Delivery
This course will run over 2 x 2 hour sessions –  over 2 weeks.
